Sammy Parker claimed his first Cherwell League five-wicket haul and Julius Leslie hit a half-century in second-placed Horspath 3rd's 39-run defeat at Aston Rowant 3rd in Division 3B.
Parker, 18, returned fine figures of 5-49 off 15 overs as third-placed Rowant were bowled out for 223 after choosing to bat with the hosts indebted to captain Yovaan Llangakoon's unbeaten 125 for their score.
Saif Dogar (3-38) provided good support but Horspath were unable to dislodge Llangakoon, whose runs came off 124 balls and included 15 fours and threes sixes.
The visitors subsided to 45-7 in reply with the top order blown away by Rafe Mason (5-32) backed up by Dom Whatman (3-60).
However, Horspath's tail wagged with Dogar making 31 before Leslie, 16, and Archie Lewins, 18, shared a ninth-wicket stand of 75.
Batting at No 10, Leslie made 52 off 49 balls with 10 fours before being caught and bowled by Ben Porter.
Last pair Lewins (36no) and Parker (19) continued the revival but Rowant had the final say with Horspath 184 all out.
The defeat sees Horspath trade places with Rowant ahead of Saturday's home game against Bletchley Town, who drew with Buckingham Town 2nd.
Horspath 4th slipped to a five-wicket defeat at home to second-placed Bradenham in Division 6C.
The hosts were bowled out for 128 after being put in to bat with teenagers Sam Moore (25), Sifat Habibi (24) and Pavlos Pavlides (22) the main contributors.
James Laker (4-22) was well supported by Alex Rae (2-7), Matthew Bradford (2-21) and Nick O'Leary (2-45) for the visitors.
Jamie Kerr (2-36) and Pavlides (2-50) then made an impact with the ball for Horspath before the Bucks club claimed victory at 129-5.
Opener Rory Wilson (45) and Rob Peatman (33) set the visitors on the way.
Next up for Horspath on Saturday is a trip to leaders Haddenham, who beat Long Marston 2nd by 81 runs.
