Horspath Cricket Club has been awarded ‘Clubmark’ accreditation by the ECB. This recognises the quality and safety of our coaching and management of the Club. We have proved our competence in the following areas: Duty of Care and Safe Guarding Children; The Cricket Programme; Knowing your Club and its Community – One game; and Club Management.
To view all our Codes of Conduct and Youth Policies, please view our Rules & Policies.
If you would like to learn more about Clubmark then please visit the ECB website at http://www.ecb.co.uk/development/club-cricket/clubmark/.
During the summer months we hold weekly training/coaching sessions for boys and girls from school year 3 upwards:
All coaching sessions are run by Horspath Cricket Club's ECB qualified coaches who hold current First Aid and Child Protection Certificates. As a Clubmark accredited Club, we ensure all the volunteers involved in Youth Cricket are CRB checked, so that parents can be confident all youth players are coached, and play cricket, in a safe and happy environment.
During the winter months there are some training sessions scheduled for February / March as pre-season practice. Watch the website for more details.
We have an area on our web site where you can purchase Horspath Cricket Club playing kit and other club wear...See Home Page for Link.
We do like all youth players representing the Club in matches to wear an official Horspath Cricket Club shirt. These can be ordered through the web site or on Registration Night where samples will be available to view the different sizes.
Details of current Membership Fees and how to pay can be found here.
The number of places available in each age group are limited. This is to ensure we can deliver high quality coaching sessions and that each youth member has a reasonable opportunity of participating in matches.
In the past we have had a large number of applications for places and some age groups have been over-subscribed. If age groups are over-subscribed, we will give priority to existing members from previous years.
To apply to join the Club see the New Member page.
Horspath Cricket Club is run as a volunteer Club and we rely on the support of our members to operate effectively. As we continue to expand as a Club we need to ask more parents to get involved with some of the Youth Cricket operations.
The club cannot achieve all its aims without the support of parents as volunteers. Can you assist in any of the following ways:
Helping out at training;
Coaching;
Managing teams;
Umpiring;
Scoring.
If you think you can help, or would like more information, please contact any of the committee members, or speak to someone directly at the Club.
