Half-centuries from openers Oliver Taylor and Ehsan Hussain helped Horspath 3rd keep their Cherwell League Division 4B promotion push on track with a resounding five-wicket home win over Cumnor 2nd.
Having bowled Cumnor out for 188 after they chose to bat, Taylor hit 59 for a maiden Cherwell fifty, while Hussain hammered 51 to set the hosts on the way to victory at 191-5.
Horspath's third successive win maintains their seven-point advantage over Charlbury in the race for second spot behind newly-crowned champions Kingston Bagpuize with two games to go.
Hussain smashed six fours and fours sixes in his 38-ball knock for his second 3rd XI half-century of the season in addition to one for the 4th XI.
He shared an opening stand of 100 with Taylor, who went on to complete his first fifty with his 83-ball innings containing 10 fours.
When he was eventually dismissed, Horspath were 175-5 as Adam Cook took 3-48, leaving Luke Heritage (24no) to see the side over the line with 19.2 overs to spare.
Heritage had earlier returned impressive figures of 3-16 from 10 overs in Cumnor's innings.
His wickets came in the space of seven balls as Cumnor were pegged back from 91-2 to 103-6 with Julius Leslie (2-43) picking up the key wicket of opener Tom Murkett, who made a run-a-ball 73 with 12 fours and two sixes.
Elis Healey (41) and George Setterfield (27) rallied the visitors with a stand of 60 for the seventh wicket, before Daniel Stanley (2-39) picked up late wickets.
Next up for Horspath s a trip on Saturday to eighth-placed Chipping Norton, who beat Challow & Childrey 2nd by eight wickets.
Horspath 4th succumbed to a 93-run defeat in Division 6C at Harwell International, whose opener Graham Stevens hit 128.
His 124-ball knock, which included 17 fours and two sixes, took Harwell to 235-8 after he shared a first-wicket stand of 127 with Thomas Forrest (37).
It took a run out by Sammy Parker - who went on to take 2-20 - to end the partnership, while Adrian Manger picked up 3-47 capped by two wickets with the last two balls of the innings including that of Stevens.
Horspath replied with 142 all out, Andy Cummings (30) top-scoring following a late call-up as Max Schofield took 3-15.
Despite the defeat the side remain seventh ahead of Saturday's home game against sixth-placed Steventon, who lost to leaders Abingdon Vale 2nd by four wickets.
