Horspath made it two wins out of two in their defence of the Hartwell Trophy with a 23-run victory over Oxford in Pool 1 at the Oxford University Press Sports Ground.
With the two sides both beating Oxenford in their opening game of the Oxfordshire T20 competition, victory here puts the reigning champions in pole position for a semi-final place.
Having elected to bat, Horspath made a brisk start with Tyron Eyles (35) leading the way as they reached 67-1 off nine overs.
The visitors were pegged back to 114-6 as wickets fell to Isaac Dikgale (2-24) and Alfie Smethurst (2-29) before captain Amin Rafiq and Jehan Mohammed shared a crucial unbroken stand of 40 off 19 balls to take Horspath to 154-6.
Rafiq launched two sixes in his unbeaten 27 from 15 deliveries, while Mohammed smashed a maximum in his 23 not out off 12.
Horspath then reduced the hosts to 30-4 with Eyles (2-13) again playing a prominent role, before leg-spinner Josh Richardson (3-22) decimated Oxford's middle order.
With Mohammed picking up 1-19 from his four overs, the visitors tightened their grip as Oxford stumbled to 76-8.
Jack Hobbs remained defiant, though, to complete a fine half-century with a six as wickets fell around him, Sam Leslie taking 2-32 to make it 107-9.
With 24 required off the last over bowled by Asad Rafiq (2-15), Hobbs was caught on the long on boundary by Derval Green from the first delivery for 67 as Oxford fell to 131 all out. His runs came off 49 balls with four fours and four sixes.
Horspath continue their campaign with the return fixture against Oxenford at Oriel College next Tuesday.
