Jamaican international all-rounder Derval Green has been given the go-ahead to make his Horspath debut at home to second-placed Gerrards Cross in Home Counties Premier Cricket League Division 2 tomorrow.
The 36-year-old had his arrival at the Recreation Ground delayed due to a hold-up with his visa application and it was only today that his registration was approved by the HCPCL.
Derval has played 42 first-class matches for Jamaica, claiming 113 wickets and hitting 1,337 runs. He has also made 24 List A appearances for the Caribbean island and played four T20 games for Jamaica Tallawahs under the captaincy of West Indies legend Chris Gayle.
In June 2018, he represented West Indies B in the inaugural Global T20 tournament in Canada, a call-up which curtailed his first English summer for Carlisle in the North Lancs and Cumbria Premier League.
Having also shone in various tournaments in the United States, he returned to the UK last year, playing for Scottish club Ayr where he took 22 wickets and scored 333 runs.
The club wish Derval all the best during his time at Horspath.
