Horspath host Pullinger Cup Finals Day

Horspath will be chasing silverware when the club hosts the Cherwell League's Pullinger Cup Finals Day at the Recreation Ground on Sunday.

The side will face Banbury 2nd in the first semi-final of the T20 competition for Tier 1 and 2 teams at 10am.

Oxford Downs 2nd then take on Didcot in the second semi-final, before the final follows later in the afternoon. All matches will take place on the main ground.

After being handed a bye in round one, Horspath booked their place on Finals Day with a 93-run win away to Aston Rowant 2nd in the quarter-finals as Viv Narayan smashed 94 off 53 balls.

Banbury, meanwhile, opened up with a seven-wicket win at Great & Little Tew with Noble Sebastian taking 5-30, before triumphing by six wickets at Westbury in the last eight with Sharaz Rana blasting an unbeaten 72.

Downs have also played two games to reach the semi-finals.

They followed up a 10-run win in a low-scoring encounter at Tiddington in the first round with a 51-run quarter-final victory at home to Cropredy as Wasim Mehmood took 3-9.

Opponents Didcot were handed a walkover by Witney Swifts in the first round, before cruising to a nine-wicket win at home to Cumnor in the last eight with Richard Cook cracking an unbeaten 56 from 42 deliveries.
