Plans are now well in motion for Horspath CC's Charity Fun Tape Ball Cricket Six-A-Side Competition at the Recreation Ground on Sunday, August 25.
Many thanks to those who have already signed up to play in the event, which is a fundraiser for Thames Valley Air Ambulance (TVAA) and the club.
The competition, which is due to take place from midday onwards with play starting at 12.30, is for club members, friends and family.
To involve all sections of the club it's planned that teams will be made up of three men's cricketers, a women's cricketer, a junior player plus a supporter/parent.
And so the format can be finalised, organisers are asking anyone wishing to take part to sign up by Sunday, August 18 (details are on the noticeboard in the clubroom).
Team members will be asked to make a £5 donation to charity, and each will receive a team shirt with thanks to Newtrim.
To raise funds a raffle and an auction are to be held on the day. With thanks some fantastic prizes including a Jimmy Anderson shirt, a Sussex CCC shirt, cricket and golf coaching sessions have already been donated.
All additional prizes/donations will be gratefully received.
It's planned to have a BBQ and the bar will be open all day. Volunteers are required and if you can help, please contact one of the organisers (see below).
Music is to be played during the games, and musicians/bands are set to play after the competition from 6pm into the evening.
Various elements of the day are also available for sponsorship if you wish to get involved in that way.
