Rabiya Dogar smashed an unbeaten 84 off 52 balls to get Horspath Hurricanes off to a flying start in the Oxfordshire Women's Hundred with a 51-run win at Freeland West Oxfordshire Warriors.
The opener's sparkling knock included 16 fours and took the visitors to 151-2 after being put in to bat in their opening Group A game of the new competition.
Rabiya put on 96 for the second wicket with her mother, Munaza, who made 30, after sharing an opening stand of 46 with Abi Wallace (20).
A fine bowling display sealed Horspath's success with Freeland restricted to 100-4.
Rabiya, Milla Allison and Abi picked up a wicket apiece, conceding just nine, 11 and 13 runs respectively from their 20 balls as Becky Edwards (21ret) top-scored.
The Hurricanes are back in action with their first home game against Oxenford on Friday, August 2 (6pm). All supporters are welcome.
Meanwhile, Horspath's debut season in the Home Counties Women's League continues to prove a steep learning curve.
In their latest Division 3 South encounter, Horspath faced Oxenford at the Recreation Ground with the visitors posting 141-5 after being put in to bat.
Oxenford were pegged back by some tight bowling with Irum Ibrahim (2-28) leading the way, while Munaza and Victoria Montgomery picked up a wicket apiece after Milla's tidy opening spell.
Good support was provided in the field highlighted by a direct hit run out by Abi plus a stumping from wicket-keeper Bernadette Urtz as a change of strategy and a welcome tenth player restricted the visitors. Special thanks to Rathi Puliyadi for playing despite injury.
Opener Sophia Leroy (55no) and Kehkashan Shah (31) shared a second-wicket stand of 95 for Oxenford.
Horspath then collapsed to 16-5 with Jessy McCabe (6-17) doing the damage, before Milla (31) and Irum put on 52 for the sixth wicket.
The hosts, though, were finally 82 all out to leave Oxenford winners by 59 runs.
Horspath had found leaders Beaconsfield 2nd too strong in their previous encounter, going down by 101 runs at Wilton Park.
The hosts made 166-2 after being inserted with Horspath claiming two run outs as Abi proved the pick of the visitors' bowlers, conceding just 16 runs from her five overs.
Openers Ellie Stuart (67no) and India Rawlings (28) led the way for the hosts.
Horspath were then restricted to 65-9 by an accurate Beaconsfield attack with Eleanor Unsworth (3-16) the chief wicket-taker.
In the fourth round of matches, Horspath were held in check by Maidenhead & Bray at the Recreation Ground after the visitors elected to field.
The hosts posted 86 all out with Tracey Isaac (19) top-scoring as Ellie Montgomerie took 3-10.
Maidenhead, though, raced to 87-0 for a 10-wicket win with captain Alishba Hussain (54no) leading the charge.
