SKIPPER Craig Wharton and Azlan Sharif hit unbeaten half-centuries as title-chasing Horspath 4th clinched promotion from Cherwell League Division 6A with a commanding nine-wicket win at home to third-placed Fringford.
Having bowled the visitors out for 134 after putting them in to bat, Wharton (58no) and Sharif (54no) propelled the leaders to victory at 137-1 off 26.1 overs.
Wharton cracked eight fours in his fourth fifty of the league campaign, while Sharif hammered six boundaries in posting his third Cherwell half-century this term as the pair shared an unbroken second-wicket stand of 110.
Tight bowling by Horspath had earlier held 10-man Fringford in check with the wickets shared around.
Off-spinner Luke Heritage returned the best figures with 3-11, while Adrian Manger (2-24), Stuart Berry (1-16), Joe Gibbs (1-19), Robin Pykett (1-23) and Azlan Sharif (1-27) all produced tidy spells. Captain Alex Walters top-scored with 38.
The win maintains Horspath's 10-point advantage at the top over Watlington, who also secured promotion with a 39-run win over Long Marston 2nd.
Horspath visit Long Marston on Saturday, while Watlington are away to Bletchley Town 2nd.
