* HORSPATH thrashed Aston Rowant by eight wickets in the Yorkshire Tea Village Cup first round.

The visitors were held to 125-8 off their 40 overs, with only Thad Cooper (38no) making any impression as off-spinner Paul Jeacock took 4-33.

Rob Eason (52) and Matt O’Connor (34) then led Horspath to 126-2 with ten overs to spare.

Horspath are now at home to Oxford Downs, who were handed a walkover by Minster Lovell, in the second round on Sunday, May 20.

With the fixtures reversed for May 13, and the bad weather persisting, there are already fears that bowl-outs could come into play.
