Konidena cracks fifty in Horspath washout

Sravan Konidena hit a half-century before Horspath's run chase in their final pre-season friendly at Cookham Dean was cut short by rain.
The opener made 51 off 43 balls as the visitors reached 108-3 in pursuit of the Thames Valley League Division 1 hosts' 237 all out when the game was abandoned.
He cracked seven fours and a six in an opening stand of 88 with Dominic O'Connor, who made 31 as Finn Reid took 2-5.
Earlier, Horspath's bowlers had shared the wickets as Reid top-scored in Cookham's innings with 66 from 105 deliveries after the home side had elected to bat.
He put on 69 for the fourth wicket with skipper Alfie Agar (43), before adding 62 with Robert Mettler (38) for the fifth wicket.
Spinners Ryan Hicks (2-30) and skipper Aman Rafiq (2-40) were the pick of the visitors' attack.
Horspath open their Home Counties Premier Cricket League Division 2 campaign at Ickenham on Saturday, before travelling to Sandford St Martin in the Cawston Press Village Cup second round on Sunday.
New recruit James Boden made a half-century as Horspath 2nd slid to a nine-wicket defeat by Banbury 2nd in a friendly at the Recreation Ground.
Boden compiled 57 from 88 balls with seven fours and a six at the top of the order after the hosts had chosen to bat.
However, with wickets falling around him Horspath were bowled out for 152 despite an unbeaten 22 from Dan Stanley. Matt Jones (3-19) and Ben Maddison (3-22) were the chief destroyers.
Banbury then cruised to 155-1 with Joe White (51no) and Freddie Crook (48no) sharing an unbroken second-wicket stand of 98 after Richard Simpson made 30 before falling to Ed Oakley (1-20).
Horspath 2nd open their Cherwell League Division 1 programme at home to Aston Rowant 2nd on Saturday.
Horspath 3rd posted 150-7 in their friendly at home to Banbury 4th, who had replied with 100-6 when the game was abandoned due to rain.
The side start their Division 3B season at home to Buckingham Town 2nd on Saturday, while Horspath 4th visit Little Gaddesden in Division 6C.
