Horspath bid to take the next step on the road to Lord's when the club entertain Gloucestershire champions Painswick in the Voneus Village Cup fifth round at the Recreation Ground on Sunday (1pm).
Having completed a hat-trick of Oxfordshire regional titles, Horspath have made home advantage count in the last 32 for the last two years with home wins over Wembdon (Somerset & Avon) and Peppard Stoke Row (Berkshire).
Twelve months ago, the side produced a stirring fightback to secure a 31-run victory over Peppard after being in trouble at 52-5.
Excellent half-centuries from Tyron Eyles (58) and Will Eason (52) saw Horspath recover to post 223-8, before dismissing the visitors for 192.
In 2023, Horspath enjoyed a 76-run home victory over Wembdon at this stage with their triumph built on an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 171 between Robbie Eason (102no) and Max Smith (80no).
This time the club have won four games to reach the national rounds for the fourth time in five years and for the eighth time in total, having opened up with a 115-run victory at home to Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts.
Viv Narayan (77no) led the way well supported by Robbie Eason (48) and Stephen Green (41) as Horspath posted 225-3, before Nondies were bowled out for 110 with Josh Richardson taking 3-16.
A trip to Shipton-under-Wychwood was next up with Green (67no) and Richardson (4-16) once again to the fore in a comfortable seven-wicket win.
Horspath were on the road again for the area semi-final, scraping through with a nail-biting four-run win at Langford.
Eyles hit a crucial unbeaten 47 to take the side to 188-6, before Richardson (4-30) shone once more with the ball and Ryan Hicks (2-37) secured victory by claiming the final wicket in the last over.
Horspath had a far more comfortable passage through the regional final, defeating Aston Rowant by 228 runs in front of a 200-plus crowd at the Recreation Ground.
Narayan (137) and Tom Nichols (109) hit brilliant centuries in a second-wicket stand of 231 as the hosts posted 312-5, before bowling Rowant out for 84 with Asad Rafiq (6-21) the chief destroyer.
Painswick, meanwhile, have played just two games to reach this stage, having been handed walkovers in the first two rounds by Apperley and Cam.
Finally making their appearance in this season's competition with a home tie against Bourton Vale in the area semi-final, they quickly laid down a marker with a 200-run victory.
Stand-in captain and wicket-keeper Luke Woolway smashed 127 off 61 balls as they racked up 351-8, before bowling Vale out for 151 with Reece Morris taking 3-18.
That set up a repeat of last year's regional final against Marshfield and Painswick retained their crown with a 13-run home win. Jonathan Conolly (71) and Woolway (54) were the main contributors.
Painswick, who stand eighth in the West of England Premier Cricket League Premier 2 Glos/Wilts, reached the national quarter-finals last year when they lost by four runs at Grampound Road - Horspath's nemesis in the last 16 for the last two years.
The prize for the winners is a home tie against Perranporth (Devon & Cornwall) or Goatacre (Dorset & Wiltshire) in the last 16 on Sunday, July 6.
