Skipper Amin Rafiq claimed 5-51 and Viv Narayan hit his third Home Counties Premier Cricket League half-century of the season as Horspath were held to a draw at Chesham in Division 2.
With the competition switching to the time format, the off-spinner's haul came in the Bucks club's 266-9 off 58 overs after they were put in to bat.
Narayan then made a fluent 58 as Horspath staged a spirited run chase before closing on 234-7 from 52 overs.
Asad Rafiq made the breakthrough for the visitors, trapping Moiz Rana lbw for 14 to leave Chesham 23-1.
But there was no further joy for Horspath until Amin brought himself on and struck with his third delivery when Daniel Ward edged into Rob Wight's gloves for 64 after sharing a second-wicket stand of 82 with opener Matt Rance, making it 105-2. His runs came off 52 balls and included nine fours and two sixes.
A further 29 runs were added before lunch with Rance completing his half-century after the resumption. He had made 60 from 91 deliveries with six fours when he was caught by Tom Nichols off Josh Richardson, having put on 61 for the third wicket with Henry Moore.
Jehan Mohammed then pinned Andy Goddard lbw, before Narayan accepted a caught and bowled chance to dismiss Moore for 39 as Chesham reached 198-5.
Returning to the attack, Amin picked up the final four wickets to fall. Wight again snapped up an edge to remove Ranvir Sinha for 17 before Kamran Khan was caught by Narayan.
Moteeb Syed went lbw and Amin completed his first Home Counties five-wicket haul in the last over when Kieran Patel fell to a catch by Sravan Konidena for 28.
Horspath were in early trouble at 25-2 before Narayan and Stephen Green set about repairing the damage as the visitors reached tea at 94-2.
Narayan had just passed fifty with the pair putting on 102 for the third wicket when he was run out by Moore, having hit 10 fours in his 59-ball knock.
Just two runs later, Stephen Green was caught by Rance off Jonathan Burden (3-54) for 48 to leave Horspath 129-4.
Derval Green rallied the visitors, though, with a quickfire 33 off 23 balls, which included three sixes, before he was caught and bowled by Rance to make it 172-6.
Richardson (38no) and Wight then shared a stand of 53 for the seventh wicket to steer Horspath towards the close and a hard-earned draw.
The result leaves Horspath in eighth ahead of next Saturday's home game against fourth-placed Falkland, who beat Gerrards Cross by 122 runs.
