Horspath open at Bicester in Home Counties

11 Nov 2024

Horspath's third spell in the Home Counties Premier Cricket League will open with a trip to face Bicester & North Oxford in Division 2 on Saturday, May 10.

The match will feature the last two Cherwell League champions with Horspath having claimed the crown last year after Bicester lifted the title in 2023.

Horspath's first venture into the Home Counties came in 2011, while the club were also previously members from 2014-23, being crowned Division 2 champions in 2016.

Founder members of the league in 2000, Bicester dropped out in 2006 before returning after an 18-year hiatus last season when they finished eighth.

Horspath then have two home matches against Slough and local rivals Oxford.

The away game against Oxford at the Oxford University Press Sports Ground is on July 26.

Thames Valley League champions Falkland visit the Recreation Ground on June 21 with the return fixture at the Newbury-based club on August 23.

The season ends with a trip to Datchet, who were relegated from Division 1 last season, on September 6.
