Horspath will be looking to make the most of home advantage to turn the tables on old rivals Grampound Road in the Voneus Village Cup sixth round at the Recreation Ground on Sunday (1pm).
Will Eason's side went down to an agonising 14-run defeat in the last 16 against the Cornish club 12 months ago following a near 500-mile round trip.
It was a game the Oxfordshire champions looked on course to win after reducing the Roadies to 121-9 only for the last pair of Martin Roberts (33no) and then captain David Neville (25) to take the Devon & Cornwall Group winners to 168 all out.
That was to prove too many for Horspath who were always up against it after losing early wickets and were eventually bowled out for 154.
Now the sides meet again at the same stage on the road to Lord's, but this time at the Rec with Horspath fresh from a gritty 31-run home success over Berkshire champions Peppard Stoke Row in the fifth round.
The hosts were made to dig deep after being reduced to 52-5 with Eason and Tyron Eyles hitting superb half-centuries to turn the tie in their favour, before a fine bowling and fielding display secured victory.
It saw the club once again equal the furthest it has gone in the competition, having also reached this stage before going out to Ynysygerwn in 1979.
Horspath earned their passage into the national rounds by being crowned Oxfordshire Group winners for the third time in four years with a nail-biting four-wicket win at Oxford Downs in the county final.
That came after an 81-run win at 2002 and 2003 national champions Shipton-under-Wychwood, a walkover against Stanton Harcourt and a 70-run home win over Minster Lovell.
Grampound Road came through the last 32 with a 74-run home win over Sully Spartans (Glamorgan & Gwent) in a rain-affected encounter, which was a repeat of their clash of 12 months ago.
With the match reduced to 30-overs-a-side, the Roadies posted 194-7 after being put in to bat with Tom Orpe, who has taken over as skipper this season, top-scoring with 40. The Glamorgan & Gwent champions were then restricted to 120-8 off 23 overs with the wickets shared around.
Grampound won the Devon & Cornwall Group for the third year running, triumphing this time with a 69-run victory at home to St Erme.
Chris Roberts starred with an unbeaten 128 as the Roadies racked up 243-5, while Orpe weighed in with 59, before Neville took 3-22 with his off-spin.
That triumph came after walkovers against Yelverton Bohemians and Gulval after they had opened their campaign with an 84-run win at Perranporth.
Opener Jack Mingo made 108 in that tie with Neville (4-28) again among the wickets.
Much like Horspath, the Cornish side have also been enjoying success on Saturdays, sitting top of Cornwall League Division 1, which is one level below the top flight.
The prize for the winners is a home tie against Painswick (Gloucestershire) or 1988 and 1990 winners Goatacre (Dorset & Wiltshire) in the quarter-finals on July 21.
All supporters are welcome.
