Horspath host Brackley in T20 semi-final
27 Jul 2023
HORSPATH bid to keep up their impressive Oxfordshire T20 form when they face Brackley in the Hartwell Senior Cup semi-final at the Recreation Ground on Tuesday (August 1).
The reward for the winners is a place in the final against holders Banbury or Oxford at Wormsley on Sunday, September 17.
Horspath reached the last four by topping Pool 1 with a perfect record of five out of five following wins over Challow & Childrey, Cumnor, Oxford and Aston Rowant plus a concession from Tiddington.
The club's overseas star, Minhaj Jalill, was
the leading batsman and bowler in the group
with 180 runs, including half-centuries at Challow and Rowant, and eight wickets spearheaded by his 5-14 also against Challow.
Brackley, meanwhile, secured their semi-final spot by finishing runners-up to Banbury in Pool 2.
The Cherwell League Division 2 side were unbeaten with wins over Cropredy, Bicester & North Oxford and Shipton-under-Wychwood plus a thrilling tie at Banbury, while their game with Oxford Downs was cancelled.
Brackley opener Adam Wirth was the group's top runscorer with 140, including 66 off 32 balls against Bicester.
The match starts at 6pm and all supporters are welcome.
