15 Aug 2022

MUHAMMAD Dogar (pictured) smashed a sensational maiden Cherwell League century in Horspath 4th's five-wicket defeat at home to Wootton & Boars Hill in Division 5C.
Batting at No 8, he hammered 102 off just 49 balls with seven fours and ten sixes as the home side racked up 277 all out after being inserted.
He came to the crease with Horspath 126-6 following handy knocks from opener Hadi Ali (37) and Archie Lewins (35).
Dogar then put on 79 for the seventh wicket with Luke Heritage, who hit 56 from 60 deliveries with six fours, before adding 72 for the eighth wicket with Euan Barrett as he flayed the ball to all parts of the ground.
His spectacular innings finally came to an end when he was run out with 277 on the board before the last two wickets also fell on that score.
The game was evenly poised with Wootton 104-3 after solid contributions from openers Nik King (34) and Ben Procter (31), but then Billy Webb and Paul Tyrer shared a fourth-wicket stand of 168 to take the visitors to the brink of victory.
Webb blasted 93 from 81 balls with 11 fours and one six, before Tyrer saw his side home with an unbeaten 81 off 78 deliveries with nine boundaries and two maximums.
Josh Cummings took 2-26 for Horspath, and there was a wicket apiece for Dogar, Heritage and Sameer Hashimi.
