A fine performance by Dean Conradie led the way as Horspath began their defence of the Bernard Tollett Oxon Cup with what turned out in the end to be a comfortable seven wicket win away against Tiddington.

Tiddington opted to bat first on winning the toss but only Australian Tom Rowley was comfortable on a slow wicket that suited the Horspath spinners, He compiled an excellent 54, whilst only Geoff Higgs with 10 reached double figures at the other end. He was eventually bowled by Dean who claimed a further 2 wickets to finish with 3 for 11, Krolly was the most successful bowler with 4 for 29, whilst tidy figures of 1-22,0-15 & 0-22 were returned by Will,Millie and Lloyd respectively as Tiddington were bowled out at the end of the 19th over for 110.

With less than a run a ball required Horspath were not required to take any risks and a fine partnership of 45 between Dean 29* and Shahbaz 21* settled the game after Kit 31 and Robbie 20 set the innings on its course.

Horspath will entertain Aston Rowant in the next round on 24th June.
