Match report Horspath won the toss and batted. Robbie E and Jimmy P were in great form right from the start against a below full strength Banbury. They took full advantage of the fielding restrictions to continually pierce the field and that, allied with positive running between the wickets, enabled them to post a Horspath record 20/20 partnership of 180 before they both fell in the 18th over. Jimmy for 86 and Robbie for 78. Horspath mustered a further 13 from the last 2 overs to post an imposing total of 196 – 4.

Banbury replied in a positive fashion led by the talented Lloyd Sabin. However wickets were falling at the other end with Mase collecting 2 and Will 1. Jack Biggs bowled a very impressive spell collecting 2 wickets and when Sabin was run out for 61 following a smart piece of work by Wyndy Banbury’s innings subsided. Shahbaz , with 2 wickets against his former Club, and Toddy wrapped up the tail. With the addition of 6 penalty runs, imposed because of Horspath not keeping pace with the required over rate, Banbury closed on 154.

Horspath will now be away to the winners of the Thame v Shipton game on either June 4th or 5th
