Horspath 3rd promoted in Cherwell restructure

17 Dec 2025

Horspath 3rd have been promoted to Division 3B following a Cherwell League restructure.
The side, who just missed out on going up after finishing third in Division 4B, have been elevated after nine new clubs were elected to the league and a second division was created at Tier 2.
Horspath will be one of two 3rd XIs in the section along with Aston Rowant and will face five 1st XIs and three 2nd XIs.
After being promoted as Division 2 runners-up, Horspath 2nd line up in Division 1 alongside their counterparts from Home Counties Premier Cricket League clubs Aston Rowant, Banbury and Oxford Downs.
They will face six 1st XIs including Bicester & North Oxford, who were relegated from the Home Counties last season.
Horspath 4th are once again in Division 6C - the only 4th XI in the section.
Their opponents consist of four 1st XIs, four 2nd XIs and Oxford 3rd - the only other Oxfordshire club in the division.
The side will also face Little Gaddesden (Herts), who have been admitted to the Cherwell for one season only as they are without a league in 2026.
Bradenham (Bucks), last season's Division 7A champions, will be other new opponents for the club.
The fixtures will be published as soon as they are available.
