Stuart Broad backs Horspath fundraising

25 Sep 2025

England legend Stuart Broad is supporting Horspath's fundraising quest in the Toyota Good For Cricket Prize Draw, which closes on Tuesday, September 30.
The fast bowler, whose 604 Test wickets included career-best figures of 8-15 in the fourth Test of the 2015 Ashes series as Australia were shot out for 60 at Trent Bridge, shared some of his experience on the critical role of fundraising.
Stuart said: "Fundraising is extremely important to cricket clubs. Running a club is expensive, requiring funds for essential equipment like sight screens and covers, as well as personnel for tasks such as bar service, tea preparation, and scoring."
He also recalled his own club days with Melton Mowbray side Egerton Park, highlighting the community spirit.
"I have fond memories of helping out at the club, from putting out boundary flags to unlocking the scoreboard," he added. "That’s all part of the community spirit of a cricket club and fosters socialisation."
The Toyota Good For Cricket Prize Draw provides a valuable opportunity to help Horspath build that vibrant atmosphere Stuart describes.
And remember, every ticket sold directly supports Horspath's vital needs with each club receiving 100% of the funds it raises, allowing investment in facilities, equipment and the community spirit that makes club cricket so special.
Thanks to those members who have already bought tickets which has seen the club raise £320 so far.
