Horspath host Amersham in Home Counties opener

15 Nov 2022

HORSPATH will open their 2023 campaign in Home Counties Premier League Division 2 at home to Amersham on May 6.
The club went down by two wickets in the corresponding fixture at the Recreation Ground last season when the visitors' ninth-wicket pair shared an unbroken stand of 69 to snatch victory.
Two months later, Horspath gained revenge with an 82-run win at Amersham with opener Max Smith's knock of 74 proving the difference between the two sides.
On the second weekend, the club are away to Cumnor, before entertaining Chesham in week three.
Horspath make the short trip to old rivals Oxford, who were relegated from Division 1 last term, in week six, with Buckingham Town, the other side to come down from the top flight, visiting the Recreation Ground a week earlier.
The club entertain Morrant Thames Valley League champions Gerrards Cross in week eight, before travelling to the Bucks club on the penultimate weekend. The campaign ends with a home game against Thame Town on September 2.
