Welcome to Horspath Cricket Club
We are a friendly village club set in the beautiful South Oxfordshire countryside, 5 miles south east of Oxford. We combine a congenial social atmosphere with a high standard of competitive cricket. Our new second ground came into play for the first time in 2010, and we now run four Saturday sides. In 2011 our 1st XI will play in Division 2 West of the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League and our other three sides will play in Divisions 5, 6 & 9 of The MP Sports Cherwell League. We also field a team in the The National Village Cup, in the Thames & Chilterns Sunday League and in Sunday friendly matches. Finally, with our large and thriving Youth Section aged 7 - 17 and a busy social programme we have something for everyone. Come and join us if you like playing or watching cricket or have children who would like to learn the game.

Season Finale
The 2011 Season drew to a fitting close with the Horspath Feast Weekend – not to be confused with the dates of the fair. The two matches were the 102nd & 103rd Adult matches to take place in 2011. Add on sundry mid-week cup games and countless youth matches and it all added up to a hectic season that stretched to exactly six months. Individual reflections on the season will appear on the website in due course.
The Shepherds regained their trophy on the Sunday in a close fought 35 over match. The Club XI setting a challenging 205 – 6 after being invited to bat first. Ben Hubbard again showed what we may be missing next year with another attractive innings of 57, he was supported by 37 from Chuck and a composed 31 from Bilal Hamid now restored to full fitness.
After being in early trouble a century stand between Will Eason 70 and Steve Richardson 34* restored the Sheps’ fortunes and they squeezed home with an over to spare for 6 down.
An even closer affair took place on Monday as the Club overhauled the Presidents XI by three wickets. Alex Jewell 28 and Ben Thompson 20 got the President’s side off on a solid foundation before Ben was castled by Chuck to the dismay of everybody bar the jubilant bowler.
After the traditional long lunch an entertaining stand between the Tiddington pairing of Nick Pykett 64 and John Talbot 33 plus a contribution of 29* from Jimmy’s dad allowed Ricksy to declare just before dark on 229- 7 . 2 wickets apiece for Mossy and Jimmy.
The Club opening pair of Matt O’C [74]and Joey T [49]continued their fine form of 2011 with a scintillating stand of 123. However in an extraordinary turn round Ricksy defied the years and the drink to capture five quick wickets to put the result in the balance. However Robbie with 45* managed to put having his windscreen shattered by Nick Pykett out of his mind for sufficient time to secure victory for theClub by 3 wickets as the street lights came on in Manor Farm Rd.
Ricksy announces President's XI
Clive Ricks has taken a moment off from listening to Peter Sarstedt records in St Tropez to announce his XI for the Feast Match on Monday. Looks like a strong side.
Vive le prancing pony, vive le XI du President, vive le cricket! Here is the team:
Alex Jewell, Ian Belcher, Ben Thompson, Graham Plested, Jon Talbot, Nick Pykett, Ayaz Khan, Neil Phillips, Andy Cummings, Dick Giles, Clive Ricks

On the 18th, 19th and 20th November 3rd team skipper Tom Murray will be running three marathons in three days to raise £5,000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Whilst the challenge is still a number of months away, an intense training programme has already started to get in physical shape. If anyone would like to donate to this important cause then please visit www.justgiving.com/3toms3marathons. Tom is happy to talk to anyone interested about the challenge and the charity at the club this Saturday evening and also how stupid he is to decide that running three marathons in a row was a sensible idea! (Good job he wasn't captain of the fourths!)

Horspath dominate at Tew
Horspath won the prestigious Great Tew 6 a side tournament on Bank Holiday Monday for the first time since 1999. The squad of Will Eason, Andy Wynd, Mark Skelton, Jack Biggs, George Harper, Ben Henderson and Jehan Mohammed, astutely managed by Robbie Eason and backed by a large number of supporters overcame Oxford & Bletchington Nondies in the final. The Nondies score of 42 off their five overs was passed by openers Andy Wynd and Jack Biggs with 8 balls to spare.
Horspath had gone unbeaten through their Group of Oxford Downs, Long Hanborough and Tew Colts to qualify for the Final with all the Squad excelling, with the fielding being particularly outstanding.

Jack inspires U17's to victory at Rowant
A "man of the match" performance by captain Jack Biggs led the U-17s to a fine eleven run victory at Aston Rowant on Monday evening. In a match reduced to 16 overs a side he scored 35 of the first 45 scored before running himself out. Dan Todd with 26 was the only other player to make a significant contribution as Horspath totalled 81 – 9. A fiery opening burst saw Jack take 2 – 15 off his 4 overs including the crucial wicket of Tolson, well caught by Tayyab Sabir. Dan Pope gave great support and took 1 – 11 in an economical spell of 4 overs. The two were replaced by Dan Todd[1-18] and Hasaan Mohammed[1-22] and although Dan Matthews and Adam Muttit put together a 35 run partnership they fell behind the clock as Horspath bowled and fielded with great discipline. Any chance of a Rowant win disappeared once Muttit was caught by Jack off the bowling of Hasaan for 24

There is more than one H in Horspath
Tuesday 17th July
Horspath breezed into the Henry Alexander Cup Final with an overwhelming victory over Ox & Bletch Nondies at Combe on Friday, at the third time of asking.
The H squad were to the fore as a decent looking opposition side on paper were blown away for only 33. Hayden and Holmes both captured 2 wickets in their opening bursts and things went from bad to worse for OBN after they were replaced by Hutch and Henderson J both taking 3 each as the innings subsided .
Opening the bowling for ONB Oakley removed the two O’Connor brothers but the arrival of two more Hs, Henderson and Hamilton saw Horspath safely home in double quick time as Hendo B peppered cow corner. Headley was not required.

Krolly handed the baton
Tuesday 12th July - Breaking news -Adam Kroll takes over the 1st XI captaincy. Today the club has issued the following statement:
"Adam Kroll has assumed the role of Ist XI captain, initially for the remainder of the season. After considerable thought and discussion Robbie believes that the interests of the side would be best served if he was relieved of the burden of captaincy and was able to concentrate on rediscovering his best form with the bat.
During the eight years since the Club reformed the weight of runs Robbie has scored and in latter years the leadership and commitment he has provided have played a major part in the success of the Club. We have always known that it was his intention to step down from the captaincy at the end of this season, but he has certainly earned the right to go at a time of his own choosing.
This season, the loss of Jonathan off the pitch and Mase on it, has removed two main buttresses and has made the captaincy particularly onerous. We know that we are in a fight to the end of the season to retain our status in the Home Counties League, something we are all desperate to achieve. We believe this move will give us our best chance of accomplishing this.
Krolly becomes only the third captain of the Club since it reformed. He is having a good season, has the total respect of all at the Club, and has previous captaincy experience. He can be assured of the support of everybody, both on and off the pitch.
We have played with great spirit this season as is evidenced by our performances in the field, where we have given 100% and done better than we had expected. Our batting, which we thought would be our strength, has only occasionally done itself justice. If we can get that right over the remaining eight games, and the new captain has better luck with the toss than Robbie [ 2 out of 10] we will prevail.
The time for talking is now over. Time now for fronting up. Could not be a better place to start than at the home of runaway leaders Burnham on Saturday.
Good luck."

U15's just fall short at Tew
Horspath U-15 just failed in their attempt to reach the County Final as they fell to a 6 wicket defeat at Great Tew with two overs remaining. Horspath batted first and posted a competitive 113 – 7 in their 20 overs. This was mainly due to a hard hit 50* by Dan Jones, aided by useful contributions from Dan Todd and Krusshi. Tight opening spells by Waqas Latif and Abdul Saleem got Horspath off to a good start and at the half way stage the game was in the balance. Dan Todd, although not helped by one short boundary, managed to impose some pressure however a couple of expensive overs tilted the game Tew’s way and composed innings by L Brock [37] and J Haggett [36*] saw Tew home.

Village Cup Round 3 on Sunday. Cropredy v Horspath. 1pm start
Sat 14th May Horspath are away again on Sunday as they travel to the attractive north Oxfordshire village of Cropredy. Horspath will be without Mossie who damaged ankle ligaments in an over exuberant wicket celebration on Saturday, but will otherwise field the same team that emerged victors by four runs their first round tie against Aston Rowant

Murray shines with super ton
Mon 9th May The Oxford Mail is leading with an item about our1st XI match with Aston Rowant on Saturday. Read it here
1st XI make statement of intent at Rowant
Sun 8th May The 1st XI made a strong start to the season with a winning draw away at Aston Rowant yesterday. The game was reduced to 56/46 overs per side after overnight rain, though play was only delayed by 1/2 an hour.
After losing the toss and being inserted in damp conditions but with the sun shining, openers Murray and Phillips got the 'Path off to a good start helped by bowling on both sides of the wicket. Jimmy was bowled by Watling attempting a sweep shot the over before lunch for a well-made 44 with the score on 98-1. After lunch skipper Robbie fell cheaply before our new Aussie recruit Timmy Hutchison joined Murray at the crease. Tim struggled to get bat on ball early on before timing the ball beautifully. Hutchison and Murray took the score past 200 with 10 overs remaining with Tim hitting some lusty blows. Murray completed his century before hitting one straight to a deep mid-off. Jehan joined Tim to take the score past 250 before Tim was run out for 67 - an excellent debut half-century for the 'Path, which was the catalyst in taking the score from a good one to an excellent one. Jehan was bowled before Mossy and Andrew Wynd saw the score through to 284-5 at the close of innings.
Rowant began at a good pase passing 40 after 10 overs before Will made the breakthrough with Jehan taking a smart catch at backward point. Jimmy Phillips came on and showed excellent temperament striking early on trapping Watling LBW, having been hit for 3 boundaries earlier in the over. Tim Hutchison then held on to dismiss Leon off Phillips in the next over before Mossy, returning in a new spell, trapped Cook LBW to leave Rowant reeling at 79-4. Adam Krol effected a catch a bat pad that David Boon would have been proud of to dismiss Tim Morgan which ended Rowant's chances of getting anywhere near the 'Path's total. Rowant skipper Wes Morrick batted well to end on 51 not out, despite injury, while the 'Path grabbed 2 more wickets (one bowled by Jimmy and a Creed run out). Rowant ended on 196-7.
An excellent start to the season by the 1st XI, with plenty of positives to take out of a display that seems as if they have left off where they finished in September 2010. They are still unbeaten in league cricket since May 2009.

Horspath lose out in tense finish at Shipton
Tue 26th April - Match Report Bank Holiday Monday warm up match
Horspath lost by two wickets with one ball remaining in an entertaining hard fought friendly on a perfect afternoon at the picturesque Shipton ground.
Having been inserted Horspath quickly lost Matt O'Connor but Joey Todd and Robbie Eason settled in to a profitable 2nd wicket partnership taking the score to 90 at the halfway stage. Both Robbie and Joey favoured the short pavillion bounday. Robbie was first to go for a fluent 67 with Joey falling shortly after for 54 which was some consolation for featuring in an Oxford Harlequin side thoroughly thrashed by Chinnor in the Oxford rugby final the day before. Jonah didn't last long as the latter half of the Horspath innings was dominated by the in form Jehan with powerful shots all round the ground. Greeny played a nice little cameo before trying to clear the longest boundary. Jehan finished on an unbeaten 71 as athe innings closed after 40 overs on 236 - 5. Sean Miller as usual was the pick of the bowlers.
Will Eason and Dean Creed both took the early wickets of Hemmings and Brain as Shipton began their reply. However, the guesting Ian Crosby and Captain Simon Hole quickly began to restore the damage and with the Horspath seamers unable to find the right length or line they kept the reply well in front of the required rate. At 20 overs the score stood at 125 - 2 however, not for the first time the Horspath fightback started with an excellent spell by dan Todd aided by a good catch by Greeny. Crosby departed on 49. Jason Hunt kept Hole company with a typically hard hit fifty before Jehan was rewarded for a tidy spell with his wicket. Toddy captured the important wicket of Hole shortly afterwards and with those two gone the Shipton innings imploded as Toddy captured the wicket of Barratt aided by a stumping from his brother. Two run outs followed courtesy of good work by Jonah and Greeny and a little help from Jerry Senior. However he stood firm and with 5 required off the last Moony over he and Sean Miller saw Shipton home.

Introducing...Tim Hutchison
Tues 19th April The last of the 3 new players to join the club this season is young Aussie Tim Hutchison. Tim hails from the port city of Albany in Western Australia, known as a popular tourist desination for its natural beauty spots. Albany doesn't seem to be the home to any famous cricketers but it does get bloody hot there during the summer (averaging over 40°C/112°F in summer), it produced many ANZAC soldiers during WW1 and it has a beach called Cosy Corner (which probably makes it Gareth's next holiday destination!). Interestingly Tim has already played at the Rec once before when he turned out for a Western Australian junior side against the 'Path a few years ago. Here's a bit more about him:
Age: 19
Joined club: 2011
Previous club(s): Colts C.C, Collingwood Park C.C (Western Australia)
Favourite cricket ground (other than the Rec): The WACA
Least favourite cricket ground: North Road playing fields ( Albany, WA)
Most admired Horspath player of all time: Ned Murray
Toughest cricketing opponent: Tom Maynard
Cricketing hero: Ricky Ponting
Non-cricketing hero: Matthew Richardson (AFL)
One rule to change to improve the game: Can’t get out first ball !
Most embarrassing moment (does not have to be cricket related): Reversing my car straight into a pole
Other sports followed: Aussie Rules Football, Soccer, Tennis
Football team supported: Everton, Perth Glory
Favourite Food: Chicken Parmigiana
Favourite TV programme: Entourage
Most favoured holiday destination: Melbourne
What was the first CD or record you purchased: Drapht
Your last £10, how would you spend it: Take it to the races
In his own words:
'I’m from Western Australia and I’ve worked for the West Australian Cricket Association for the past 3 years as a Development Coach. Joining Horspath C.C came about as I was on a junior tour to England 3 years ago and we played successful match against the senior team at the Horspath Ground. The nicely kept ground and club house left a real impression on me, something that we don’t have a lot of in Australia . After getting in contact with Max Eason and Ed Murray early this year we were able to organise me to be a part of the club for the coming season. I’m really looking forward playing lots of winning cricket and enjoying the lifestyle.'
Tim will be staying at the Smith residence and will assist Paul and Will with coaching the junior teams. We all welcome Tim to the club and wish him a happy stay here in Oxford.
2004-2010 statistics no.2
Sun 17th April Here are the Cherwell League bowling averages for all players for the 7 seasons from 2004-2010. Tom 'Bisto' Smith comes out on top with a very impressive 157 wickets closely followed by Dean Creed with 141 wickets and Will Eason with 134 wickets. Ben Cook, David Hertiage and Stuart Berry are the others to have taken over 100 wickets. Special mention must go to Lee Mason who has taken 92 wickets in only 3 full seasons at the club, while Paul Jeacock is already 20th on the list after only 1 season with 36 wickets! 15-year-old Dan Todd has already taken 51 league wickets and has the lowest strike rate of any bowler on the list at 17.69 so is undoubtedly one to watch for the future. Bisto has bowled the most overs since 2004 (859.2) but has also gone for the most number of runs (2703). Alan 'Cosher' Cawston is probably our least successful bowler since the reformation, bowling 16 wicketless overs for 101 runs.

2004-2010 statistics no.1
Fri 15th April Here are the Cherwell League batting averages for all players for the 7 seasons from 2004-2010. Unsurprisingly Robbie Eason stands tall at the top of the stats with an impressive 3690 runs since the reformation (the HCC reformation that is). One of the few consistent names in the batting order which has changed considerably since 2004, Robbie has averaged 59.51 (42.90 per innings) with 30 fifties and 3 hundreds. Nearer the bottom of the list is a more staggering statistic. Andy Cummings has batted only 11 times since the demerger in 2004. In his 11 innings Andy has hit a whopping 27 runs with a swashbuckling 7 being his highest score.
Stats attack!
Weds 13th April We are delighted to announce that very soon we will be able to add an archive of cricket statistics to the website. A huge thanks must go to Alex Eason who has digitalised all but 3 scorebooks since the club reformed in 2004. This has enabled 'top stato' Hayden Moon to compile PDF files of batting and bowling averages, number of catches, 5+ wicket hauls, centurians, ducks, highest partnerships and highest partnership by wicket. We hope we might be able to produce a stats page on the website in the future and create one of the most comprehensive player by player record. We will reveal the different statistical PDFs one by one over the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled. Also look out for the 3 missing scorebooks!

HCC Member Area - sign up now!
Thurs April 7th This season the club has an introduced the HCC Member Area in order to allow members to see fixtures, player profiles and captains to announce team selection. It is essential that all playing members register here and update their availability. Social members are also encouraged to register too. The HCC Member Area also has forum for discussion, up-to-date league tables, averages & stats and a calendar of up coming events.
Weds April 6th You might have noticed that the 'Prancing Pony' Twitter page has become more active over the last week. If you would like to get involved in tweeting under the 'Prancing Pony' name please email news@horspathcricket.com. We are looking for members who would like to tweet during games for this season. Whether you're a player who can tweet during intervals of play or a social member who can tweet throughout the day, the more people we get tweeting the more information can be gathered from different locations where the 'Path are playing (including live scores!).
You can see the latest tweets at the right of the home page, in the HCC Member Area or the Prancing Pony's page on the twitter website.
Many people still don't entirely understand how to use twitter properly. For a video of how to use it see this.
First match of the season Saturday at 13.00 Horspath V Wollaton CC
Weds April 6th The sun is shining, the grass is growing and it is time to don the shirt with the prancing pony for the first time in 2011.
The 2011 season commences on Saturday, as it did in 2010, with an attractive game against Wollaton. The Nottinghamshire Premier League team will be lead by the Oxford MCCU all-rounder David Smith. Play is scheduled to start at 1pm.
Jimmy Phillips will make his debut after joining the club this year. His ability is already well-known to us and we wish him well for a long and happy association with Horspath. Andy Wynd will occupy a middle order spot and will comment on the game from behind the sticks. An early opportunity is given to Matt O'Connor and Steve Green to shine. Most attention will be on the seam bowling to see if one or more can step into the big hole left by the injury to the prolific Lee Mason. Ceri Holmes and a slimline Dean Creed will back up Mossy Rana. The spin bowling department will consist of the two leggies Dan Todd and Jimmy. Jehan and Mark Skelton complete an explosive middle order in a side captained by Robbie Eason.

Turbine cancellation prompts talk of new merger
Friday April 1st The cancellation of the wind turbine project has caused speculation about a re-merger between Horspath and Oxford Cricket Clubs. A source at Horspath said that the availability of the triangular field for sports field development with two new cricket pitches and a purpose built pavilion has caused discussion between the two clubs. It is believed that a new merged club would be named Horspath & Oxford and that Horspath's 1st XI would play in the Home Counties Premiership and Oxford's 1st XI renamed Horspath & Oxford 2nd XI will play in Division 5 of The Cherwell League.

Tues Mar 29th One of the Path's new recruits for the 2011 season is the wicket-keeper batsman Andy Wynd. Andy is already a familiar face around the club, having played Sunday League cricket for us last season. 'I joined Horspath from Tring for the 2011 season after moving to Wootton with my girlfriend Anna. I had a very enjoyable 'Sunday' season at the club in 2010 and after just one meeting with Stompy he had me convinced that Horspath should be my 'full-time' club! I work for Apem Components alongside the legend that is Adam Krol and have known the Eason clan all my life through my Brill roots! Just a couple of reasons why I'm certain this season will be a great one!'
HCC welcomes Andy as a 'proper' player for the 2011 season and we hope it's not long before he brings up his century of dismissals in Premier League cricket!
It's not all about the cricket...
Mon Mar 28th As the start of the new cricket season fast approaches, many of our members are playing their final games of the season in other sports. A Message From Jonathan's Family
Thurs Mar 24th Jonathan's Uncle Phil has asked us to post the following message on behalf of Jonathan's family to all those who travelled to Bridgend and Porthcawl on Tuesday:
John, Annette and the rest of the Stobart family would like to thank you all for attending this celebration of Jonathan’s life. Special mention must go to all his friends from Horspath Cricket Club who made the trip from Oxford, and provided the pall bearers for Jonathan’s coffin. Beverley and Thomas were rocks for us and helped us to get through a very difficult day, and Beverley’s tribute to Jonathan was superb. You must have admired and loved him as much as we do, the daffodil idea was beautiful.
Kindest regards,
John, Annette, Ken and Phil Stobart
Our thoughts are with them at this most difficult time and we hope to see them at Horspath at some point over the summer.

Don't be square - be there (and remember the clocks go forward!)

Jonathan “Stompy” Stobart
We are saddened to report the tragic death of Jonathan “Stompy” Stobart at his home in South Wales at the weekend. Jonathan came to us just four years ago and had a hugely positive impact on the development of the club; in funding through sponsorship, in administration, in team management, in kit organisation, in communication and in his enthusiastic and energetic work for all things Horspath including the Village Hall Management Committee of which he became Chairman.
More importantly he was an all round good bloke whose cheerful and positive approach and ability to get things done was an inspiration to us all. Jonathan leaves an enormous gap at the club and will be terribly missed. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Jonathan’s parents Jon and Annette, and with Bev and Tom at this most difficult time.
Working Party: Sun Mar 6th - all welcome!
Wed Mar 2nd: If you have any time spare this coming Sunday, 09.30 - 12.00, your help at the ground would be appreciated on some pre-season preparations on the Scout Hut and related facilities. Hope to see you then - not in your Sunday best!

Aussie Tim heads for the 'Path (udpated Feb 17th)
Mon Feb 14th: We very much look forward to welcoming Tim Hutchison from Albany, Western Australia as a young visiting player for the 2011 season.
Tim was captain of the W Australia South West Emerging Warriors team that toured England in 2008 and played a 20/20 match against Horspath as part of their warm up. Tim is now 19 and employed as full-time coach by the Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) in the southern part of the state and is fortunate to have been granted a four month leave of absence by the WACA to broaden his experience by playing and coaching in England. A top order batting all rounder who bowls off spin, Tim has spent the 2010/11 season as captain of the Western Australia Country U21's and plays for Albany in A Grade Cricket.
As a Level 2 coach Tim is looking forward to getting deeply involved in our youth and adult coaching during his stay in Horspath. Tim is paying his own way and will have working visa so will welcome any work people can find for him to fit around his coaching and playing.

Daisy May to lead Horspath Ladies XI.....?
Mon Jan 31st: In this EXCLUSIVE picture HERE snapped over the weekend, 1st XI skipper Robbie Eason is seen deep in conversation with Daisy May over the contractual details (on the back of a Carslberg beer mat) for her to lead the 'Path ladies XI for the 2028 season. Cricket is in Daisy May's DNA, of course, from Hannah and Adam (well, Hannah at least.....) and so get your bets on now for a successful Horspath Ladies XI to come towards the end of the next decade.

Creedy in the pink.........but not (yet)the nick!
Fri Jan 28th: To those who know him very well it will be no surprise to see Kev Creed's close affinity to the colour pink as seen right HERE. Always been in touch with his feminine side, our Kev, although Special Constable Tony Herman has been passed this incriminating evidence and will be making tracks to Tiddington to interview the suspect, so we're told..................

Jeremy Coney MBE - a new friend of the 'Path
Sat Jan 22nd: Last Thursday evening a small group of players and members had the great pleasure of spending 3 hours in the company of the former New Zealand Test (52 appearances) and ODI (88) cricketer - and Captain - and now Sky Sports commentator, who recently moved to Wheatley. Cricinfo reports his most impressive career stats HERE, Wikipedia HERE.
Enjoying the generous hospitality of one of our sponsors, Cinnamons, Jeremy shared very many interesting stories from not only his playing and broadcasting career but also from his love of his new post playing days occupation as a stage lighting engineer.
We are also delighted that Jeremy has agreed to spend some of his time during our pre-season programme with our batsmen and slip fielders, passing on his years of experience that can only be good for the 'Path as we look to build on Fourmidable 2010. Thanks to Adi Manger for brokering the introduction to the best cricketer - without any doubt - living in OX33.

Most Memorable Cricketing Moment (Personal): Bowling a peach in our under 17's match against Bicester & NO to get us off to a flyer.
Worst Cricketing Moment: Playing the Sunday friendly match after the celebration evening...killer!

Toughest Opposition Player: Jehan Mohammed when we played his Asian XI.
Toughest Opposition Team: Great Brickhill.

Looking back at 2010: no16 - Tom Murray
Mon Jan 3rd: Out with the old in with the new, as they say at this time of year, so here's the new 3rd XI Captain taking a look over his left shoulder.
Most Memorable Cricketing Moment (Team): Naturally winning Div 7 with the 3's - but also great team performances to notch up wins away at Gt. Brickhill and Long Marston II's.
Most Memorable Cricketing Moment (Personal): Teaching Headley how to stay at the crease longer than five minutes! All in all for me a pretty average season with both bat and ball with few stand-out performances.
Worst Cricketing Moment: Losing the coveted Tom Murray Cup to a much lesser Tom Murray.
Best Away Ground: Has to be Long Marston this year. Brickhill also has its charm bar the slope.
Toughest Opposition Player: A decent opening bat at home to Brickhill in the season opener.
Toughest Opposition Team: Great Brickhill.
Best Umpire: I would have to plump for myself purely based on the great feeling of being able to trigger Ben Henderson. Recommended to all!
