New signing Dan Corner cracked a superb unbeaten century as Horspath 2nd secured a resounding 117-run victory in a friendly at Cookham Dean 2nd on Saturday.
Corner, who has joined the club after moving to Oxford from Derby where he played for Quarndon in Derbyshire County League Division 1, made 101 with 12 fours and a six before retiring to set the visitors on the way to an impressive 270-6 off 40 overs after electing to bat.
He shared an excellent second-wicket stand of 128 with opener Tejas Anand, who hammered 73 with seven fours and two sixes, before skipper Ryan Hicks weighed in with 41.
Openers Taine Richards (41) and Rob Mettler (28) put on 74 for Cookham, but Horspath's bowlers then took charge to restrict the hosts to 153-9 with Azlan Sharif (3-21) the chief wicket-taker.
